IUI

Our IUI treatment procedure involves injecting washed sperm into the cervical canal during ovulation. If donor sperm is required, couples receive expert counseling at Me and Mummy IVF Centre and Hospital. We ensure full consent and professional guidance for all patients requesting the use of donated gametes during their fertility journey.

IUI is often done with or without stimulation of the ovaries with fertility drugs, to increase the chances of conception. The cycle is monitored with ultrasound, and insemination is performed at around the time of ovulation, i.e. about 36 hours after an HCG injection to trigger ovulation.

Donors are screened for sexually transmittable agents (including HIV) and genetically inherited diseases. We freeze donated samples and quarantine them for a minimum of six months prior to use. This allows time for all the test results to be collected and HIV testing to be repeated, prior to using the samples. We try to match the partner’s ethnic background, his eye and hair coloring, to that of the donor. Other characteristics, such as blood group can be matched on request, depending on availability.

IVF

This assisted reproduction method involves fertilizing mature eggs in vitro and transferring the resulting embryo to the uterus for successful implantation.

It is a form of assisted reproduction method, which involves retrieving mature eggs from the ovary, and fertilize with the semen by use of in vitro fertilization, and then putting the resulting embryo into the uterus. More than one fertilized eggs may be transferred into the woman’s uterus, where they may implant to the uterine lining and further develop. The egg retrieval is done under anesthesia, using a vaginal ultrasound, to guide the insertion of a long, thin needle through vagina into the ovary and then into each follicle to retrieve eggs. This is a short duration procedure which does not require the patient to be admitted to the hospital. The whole IVF section is provided with HEPA filtered, sterile, pressurized air for bacteria free and particle free atmosphere to improve the success of the treatment.

ICSI

ICSI is a sophisticated technique that has revolutionized the treatment of severe male infertility. In this procedure, a single sperm is injected directly into a mature egg, significantly increasing the chances of successful fertilization.

ICSI helps to overcome fertility problems, such as:

• Sperm count of the male partner is very less or zero (azoospermia).

• The egg’s outer layer may be thick or hard to penetrate
• A blockage in the male reproductive tract may keep sperm from getting out.
• Eggs have not fertilized by traditional IVF, regardless of the condition of the sperm.
• In vitro matured eggs are being used.
• Previously frozen eggs are being used
